What it is

OpenClaw (first called Clawdbot) is an open-source AI agent that runs on your own machine and acts for you through chat apps. Its creator, PSPDFKit founder Peter Steinberger, built it as a one-person project.

Steinberger runs 5 to 10 coding agents in parallel, mostly Codex, and says he ships code he does not read line by line, relying on agents to compile, lint and test their own work.
